Deux septuagénaires, Marie-Rose et Hector, ont décidé de vivre leur amour au grand jour malgré la désapprobation de leur entourage. Marie-Rose a mené une vie conventionnelle en refoulant ses goût profonds et à soixante-dix ans, au lieu d'attendre la mort, elle manifeste enfin son besoin de liberté et d'autonomie. Quant à Hector, qui a deux ans de plus, on pourrait l'appeler le Roméo de l'âge d'or. Cet homme de la campagne est un vieux tendre, un poète du coeur.
